Annoying Weakness
Obviously deceptive ads started a long time ago! If ever you wondered why we now have Certification Standards and Expiry Dates - This ad gives us a snapshot. It shows just how unregulated the industry was. Funny how "this means a lifetime" is immediately followed up with the disclaimer "guaranteed for two years".
Also we can now think of many possible accidents? I wonder how many people challenged the claims?
I love how it then goes on to mention the virtues of the "Catspaw" Rubber heels. Rubber was quite the fad!
